Frequently asked questions about connection and lag
Why do I lag in games when my internet plan is 500 Mbps?
Download speed (bandwidth) measures how much data moves per second, which is great for downloading files. Online games exchange tiny packets in real time, so what matters is route consistency, millisecond-level variation (jitter), and the delay that appears when the network is busy (bufferbloat).
What does the Lagcheck verdict mean in practice?
Instead of asking you to interpret dozens of numbers, the result sums everything up in one clear conclusion: READY FOR RANKED (solid route), UNSTABLE CONDITIONS (noticeable fluctuations) or I WOULD AVOID RANKED NOW (severe packet loss or network saturation). If there are not enough responses, the result is inconclusive, never an invented score.
Is the website test the same as the app test?
No. The website tests from your browser over HTTPS to the lowest-latency AWS region and shows an estimate of response time, jitter and delay under load. Browsers cannot send UDP packets, so packet loss is only measured in the iPhone app.
Does Lagcheck promise zero lag or lower my ping?
No. Lagcheck is not a route optimizer and makes no miracle promises. It is a measurement and preventive diagnostic tool: it shows your real connection before you queue so you do not lose points.
Can I use it on my iPhone while playing on PC or console?
Yes. With the iPhone on the same home Wi-Fi, the app diagnoses the overall health of your local network and your ISP exit route. If the test shows instability, your PC or console will be affected too.
Is the app free? Do I need to sign up?
Lagcheck is free on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 17+) and requires no sign-up, login or email. It may show labeled native ads on Home, History, Games and on a valid completed Result; see the Privacy Policy for the consent choices.
