How it works

How Lagcheck measures your gaming connection

Three steps, one direct verdict, and no invented scores. See what the website measures, what only the app can measure, and how to read the result.

How it works

A test built for real game traffic.

01

Pick the game

Select the title you are about to open, or the closest category.

02

Test the closest region

The website picks the lowest-latency AWS region and measures the route at rest and under load. The app does the same with UDP packets.

03

Get the verdict

Ready for ranked, unstable conditions, or an honest warning to avoid the competitive queue.

Results

More than a ping number. A clear verdict.

Lagcheck turns the measurement into practical guidance before you queue. Illustrative example:

● READY FOR RANKED

Your route is stable.

Response time and packet-to-packet variation (jitter) are within the ideal range for competitive matches.

Speed and stability

A speed test alone does not explain game lag.

Downloads measure bandwidth. Competitive games also depend on consistent response time, jitter, bufferbloat, and packet loss.

Speed test

  • — Download and upload speed (Mbps)
  • — Single ping reading
  • ✕ Does not track millisecond-by-millisecond variation

Lagcheck

  • ✓ Response time and jitter
  • ✓ Stability under load (bufferbloat)
  • ✓ UDP packet loss, in the app
  • ✓ A clear verdict: ready for ranked or not
Transparency

Where and how your connection is measured.

The website test runs in your browser over HTTPS to the lowest-latency AWS reference region. It does not measure a game server or UDP packet loss; the iPhone app does. Your IP address is not read, displayed or stored.
